Uniform Information for September 2020
You can purchase Giles Junior school uniform through Smarty Schoolwear.
Uniform orders that choose school delivery, will be delivered to the school on a Tuesday free of charge (orders will need to be made by the Friday before to receive it on the following Tuesday).
There is now a convenient click and collect service available at the new Smarty Schoolwear shop currently located in Stevenage Town Centre. With the current situation as it is, Smarty Schoolwear have requested that you call to book an appointment if you require to browse the uniform and try garments on. This is to keep the amount of customers in the shop at any one time to a minimum and so social distancing can be possible.
To purchase your child’s uniform or PE kit, parents have three options:
Smarty Schoolwear Ltd, Unit 2 Mulberry House,Park Place, Stevenage, SG1 1DP
(Click & collect service available or call for an appointment to try uniform on for size)
NB: If you are eligible for Free School Meals (or have been in the last 6 years) you will receive a discount on your PE kit.
Buying school uniform can be complex at the best of times, however, please try and undertake the following to make it easier:
1) September 2020 starters - should try to book appointments early with Smarty Schoolwear. They have introduced Klarna pay to spread payments (reducing the expenditure burden) and also have increased the exchange and refund periods to assist. They believe in coming once, getting you correctly fitted out and taking the garments home on the day, as this minimises the number of times you will need to come to the store and come in contact with people. Check online or call the store to book an appointment.
2) Existing parents/carers should check their child’s uniform requirements for the new term as early possible. Try to avoid leaving it to late August.
By working together we can still get everyone back to school in the correct clothing and all being done in the safest possible way.
If you need any further assistance or because you are in the vulnerable health category please call us on 01707 263909 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can provide further guidance.
