Mission Statement
At Giles Junior School, our mission is to provide an inclusive and nurturing environment where children, staff and the wider community feel welcomed, safe and happy. We provide high-quality education for children to achieve their full potential and become life-long learners. We foster our pupils to develop leadership skills, good citizenship and encourage emotional and physical well-being which will equip the children with necessary life skills to navigate the outside world.

How We Embed Our Values at Giles Junior School
At Giles Junior School, our values are part of everyday life. They are not taught in isolation but are woven through everything we do, helping children to develop as confident, respectful and responsible individuals.
In the Classroom
- Teachers use consistent language linked to the 7 Habits to support learning and behaviour
- Pupils are encouraged to reflect on their choices and take responsibility for their actions
- Positive behaviour is recognised through praise, class rewards and celebration of effort
Through Daily Routines
- Clear and consistent routines support a calm, safe and purposeful environment
- Expectations are explicitly taught and regularly reinforced
- Positive language is used by all staff to guide behaviour
In Relationships
- Strong, trusting relationships between staff and pupils are at the heart of our approach
- Staff support pupils to understand and manage their emotions
- Restorative conversations help pupils learn from mistakes and repair relationships

Beyond the Classroom
- Our expectations apply at all times, including playtimes, lunchtimes and school trips
- Staff support pupils to use these values in social situations and when resolving disagreements

- We work closely with parents to ensure consistency between home and school
- Families are supported in encouraging independence, responsibility and respect
